Caring Kids Program: Dog and Cat Protectors

Event on: 2017-December 18th 4:00 PM - 5:15 PM

HEART and Animal Haven are excited to offer this educational, hands-on, service-learning based program about animals for both 5 – 6 year olds and 7 – 8 year olds.

We are conducting programs from October through December. The theme for this fall’s programming is Dog and Cat Protectors. The program will be offered three times throughout the semester, once for 5 – 6 year olds and twice for 7 – 8 year olds. Each program will take place on three consecutive Mondays from 4:00 – 5:15 pm.

Youth who care about animals can participate in our Caring Kids program to become official dog and cat protectors. Throughout the 3-day program, they will learn about Animal Haven’s vital work rescuing and adopting homeless animals. Participants will learn about the needs of dogs and cats and responsible animal guardianship. Additionally, they will engage in hands-on activities to help the dogs and cats at Animal Haven. Each day participants will meet some of the animals who are currently residing at Animal Haven and waiting to be adopted into their forever loving homes. At the end of the program, to acknowledge their participation, they will receive an Animal Ambassador certificate.
